Integral Assessment
Well this exercise made no sense to me...I found it difficult to keep my eyes closed because I had to keep opening them to remember what I was supposed to be repeating! I guess if I had time to do it everyday, I would have memorized them but did not get that chance. I think I do feel universal loving-kindness, maybe not to the full extent that is involved in the Integral Healing, but to a point. The Integral Assessment was interesting to me. I know there are things in all areas of my life I could work on. The one area of focus I feel maybe needs the most focus would probably be interpersonal, which I honestly feel I am already working on. I really love to run, so I have tried some new things with my running. When I focus on my breathing I focus on my inner self. I think about my day or week and think about the things I could have done differently, how I could have handled situations differently. I feel like this helps better myself. I have also been considering going to a life coach. These are counselors that focus more on the present and the future instead of tearing through your past, I really don't need to re-live that. I learn from my mistakes, but they also make you the person you really are. The only way to change or improve is to have someone help you, to give you feedback and ideas. Well...that is the only way I feel I can improve myself.

I felt the same way when I would try and remember what I was doing. I felt that the Integral Assessment was easier for me as well. I think we all will have more difficulties with the universal assessment because it is harder for us to figure out the world and how to show emotion to it, then it is to think about ourselves. I agree that we shouldn't live in the past but it is so hard for some people. I think that when we go to make the same mistake they should look back on the consequences but I definitely don't think we should live in the past. Thank you for sharing these great ideas.
ReplyDeleteHi there - For me this exercise was easier to do than the last ones as it was easier to repeat and memorize the words.
ReplyDeleteAs for the integral assessment, I too like to run as it helps clear my mind, my time to sort out my chatter it is a good stress reliever for me. As far as a coach I would encourage everyone to do this as it is another person who is an expert in this field that can help guide you. They are also neutral and have your best interest at heart.
thanks - Lil
Hi fellow classmate,
ReplyDeleteI really like the colors that are on your blog - they are very peaceful.
I agree that you should not live in the past - however, sometimes if you find yourself doing the same thing over and over again and not gaining the success that you desire, I have found that I sometimes need to re-visit the past, to see what I needed to learn from the past possibly it will help me to move forward to my future goals. Sometimes the trials and tribulations that we experience have lessons that we can learn from. Have a great weekend.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteIt did not make sense to me either at first because I was suppose to have my eyes closed and then repeat the phrase which I did not memorize yet. So what I actually did was followed the exercise and when it came to repeating the words I had my husband say them and then I would repeat them. The exercise actually worked for me and I felt like I was putting some positive feeling out in the atmosphere. The integral assessment was a little tricky for me just because I was not sure which aspect of my life to focus on. I also like running and I think it is a good idea to focus on your inner self as you run, I have not tried that but I believe that I will not, thank you for some good tips.
